received No later than August 15, 2026

The Plainsboro Fire Department and the NJ Department of Community Affairs; Bureau of Housing Inspection-DCA requires by law for all multiple dwellings, including Condominiums:

• All smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms MUST be in working order and within manufacturers warranty. Please note it is no longer allowed to have alarms with batteries that you change – the alarms MUST be replaced with sealed 10‑year alarms to be in compliance.
• They are required to be 10‑year sealed battery powered single station smoke alarms for Use Group R2 or AC powered interconnected smoke alarms in dwelling units of Use Group R2.
• Single station carbon monoxide alarms are to be installed in the immediate vicinity of the sleeping area in every guest room or dwelling unit, or as permitted by code.
• At least one 2A:10B:C Portable Fire Extinguisher must be within 10 feet of the kitchen and cooking areas.
